A man from Buhera committed suicide after failing to see a prophet.

Police confirmed the incident that happened in Sakumai Village under Chief Nyashanu in Buhera. It is reported that Pilot Nyikadzzrowa (23) left home after advising his mother, Emelder Mutyere that he was visiting a prophet to seek assistance on his undisclosed illness.

Pilot, who was involved in an accident last year is said to have been sick for a year, thus he wanted help from the prophet. The 23-year-old man returned home in the afternoon and informed his mother that he had failed to see the prophet since he was supposed to make an appointment first. he told his mother that he wanted to see a different prophet, but the concerned mother insisted that he should go the following day. She advised him to rest as his health was deteriorating.

This did not go down well with Pilot who then shouted at his mother whom she accused of being "heartless and selfish". The caring mother simply ignored her son's accusations and ordered him to collect an empty sack from the hut and get millet which they would give to the prophet as payment for his services.

After 30 minutes, Emelder sent her daughter to check on Pilot as he had taken too long without returning. The child discovered Pilot's body hanging from the trusses and she called her mother.

The two then made a report to the police and his body was taken for post mortem.
