MDC-T is still to decide the fate of Mutare mayor Councillor Tatenda Nhamarare and three councillors from the city after they appeared before the party's disciplinary committee at Harvest House on Monday for defying the party's directive by voting for a Zanu-PF deputy mayor.
The disciplinary committee is expected to make recommendations to the party's national executive which in turn would make a final decision.
The party's spokesperson Mr Douglas Mwonzora yesterday said the disciplinary hearings were conducted in respect of the four Mutare councillors who include Clr Nhamarare but judgment is still pending as the disciplinary committee is in the process of deliberating its findings and evaluating the evidence before it.
He said they would make the judgement known once its out. The disciplinary committee is chaired Mr Shepherd Mushonga and other members are Mrs Sibusisiwe Bhuda Masara and Senator James Makore.
The Mutare mayor is also accused of congratulating President Mugabe for his resounding victory in the July 31 harmonised elections.
Despite winning 13 of the 19 seats in Mutare, MDC-T's nominated candidates - Thomas Nyamupanedengu (mayor) and Kudakwashe Chisango (deputy) - lost the election after Clrs Nhamarare, Richard Mupfura, Pamela Mutare and Farai Bhiza allegedly crossed the floor.
