Woman bashed for dating a married man

A 28-year-old Chitungwiza woman was severely assaulted and bitten on her thumb by her neighbour after being accused of having an illicit affair with her husband.
Primrose Dovi of St Mary's was accused of being in love with the husband of Sibongile Mukusa (28).
As a result of the extramarital affair, Mukusa assaulted Dovi.
The incident took place last Friday when Dovi was coming from the nearby bush.
She was intercepted by the infuriated Mukusa who demanded an explanation as to why she was dating her husband.
The court head that trouble started when Dovi tried to offer her defence.
This did not go down well with Mukusa, who in a fit of rage charged towards Dovi and floored her with claps.
As if that was not enough, Mukusa grabbed Dovi's thumb and bit it. Dovi screamed in pain and was rescued by passers-by.
The matter was reported to the police leading to Mukusa's arrest.
Chitungwiza magistrate Mr Kudakwashe Jarabini slapped Mukusa with a suspended six-month jail term on condition she completed 210 hours of unpaid work at St Mary's clinic in the same location.
Mr Wilson Matsika prosecuted.
