A MASS burial of some of the Muyambo family members who perished in the Manzvire ethanol tanker disaster was held over the weekend in Maria Ngatitonge Village in Musikavanhu constituency.
It was an emotional send off for the four family members - Prosper, Charles, Kudzai Muyambo and Nyasha Nefalanji - as they were laid to rest in one mass grave that had compartments.
Grieving family members, relatives and neighbours were emotionally touched upon the arrival of the caskets at the homestead and the situation became even worse when the caskets were lowered into their final resting place.
In separate interviews, family members said the horrific accident had dealt them a major blow, noting that the incident will forever haunt them.
The only surviving child for Mr Samson Muyambo who also perished in the ethanol inferno, Ms Maurine Muyambo Mashapa, said losing 11 members in one tragic accident was the most painful experience in life adding that life has lost its true meaning.
The legislator for Musikavanhu constituency Mr Prosper Mutseyami said the Manzvire ethanol tanker disaster would forever haunt the village and the entire constituency.
He however, applauded the Government for the support it rendered to the bereaved families. In the tragic accident that occurred on October 30, 11 of the victims are Muyambo family members who were accompanying the body of Clifford Muyambo for burial.
A grim atmosphere prevailed as family members, relatives and friends came to terms with the reality that indeed the 11 Muyambo family members were no longer part of the village, community and the Constituency at large.
Despite the burial of the four, mourning of the Muyambo family continues as seven more family members who were burnt beyond recognition are yet to be identified.
However, the family members applauded the Government effort for securing the DNA testing to identify the deceased.
