A Zimbabwean woman has become the first female in the country to donate blood 200 times.
For the past 41 years, Glyn Jermyn's blood has been serving lives of people, most of whom she did not know and might never know.
Jermyn, who has been voluntarily donating blood, on Wednesday, gave the precious life saving liquid for the 200th time, becoming the first woman in Zimbabwe to reach the landmark.
She was donating platelets where a machine withdraws the blood, filters out the platelets and returns the rest of the blood to the donor.
In just an hour or less, a person can donate one unit of blood that can be separated into four individual components that could help save multiple lives.
One such recipient who owes her life to blood donors is Pauline Matambanadzo who developed liver complications that required her to have a transfusion of six pints of plasma.
While it is possible to give without loving, it is impossible to love without giving.
The greatest gift a person can ever give is life.
Blood is life and donating it in Zimbabwe is voluntary and has no monetary benefits.
But there is the gratification of knowing that every drop will help save a life and that is the drive that has seen Jermyn reaching a double century of donations.
