Theft charges against seven Movement for Democratic Change members, arrested in Ward 3, Kazozo in Nyanga North, on Monday after forcefully grabbing farming inputs when a councillor in the area had said they were meant for Zanu-PF supporters only, were dropped Wednesday.

After being freed, one of the MDC-T activists Lovemore Kenende, was then arrested again for allegedly beating up a Zanu-PF councillor on the day in question and is expected to return to court Thursday.

The MDC-T says the party's members are failing to access farming inputs and food handouts nationwide.

Some villagers in several regions say the distribution of farming inputs under the government's $160 million agricultural scheme has been politicized.

Angelina Moyo of the MDC formation led by Welshman Ncube says several people in Binga South were also denied farming inputs because of their party affiliation.
