06 Jun 2011 at 08:44hrs | Views
Two restaurant employees appeared in court on allegations of stealing chips worth US$5 from their employer. Wellington Tazvarirweyi, 38, and Brian Chijaka, 27, allegedly hatched this plan when they finished work to go home.
The State, led by prosecutor Cynthia Tigere alleges Wellington was on his way out of the premises, when the director, Young Jong, stopped and searched him. It is the State's case that Wellington was left with egg in the face after a box of chips was found in his bag.
Young asked Wellington where he had got the box of chips and the latter is said to have implicated his co-accused Brian. When Brian was called, he is said to have vehemently denied being the brains behind the chips scam and the two started hurling accusations at each other.
Both employees denied responsibility for the theft and they were then arrested and brought to court.
In court, Space and Joy is being represented by the manager Elasta Antony. They will be back in court today (Friday).
