The Traffic Safety Council of Zimbabwe (TSCZ) has reiterated the need for motorists to exercise caution this festive season and avoid more road accidents.

With 41 people having perished on the roads, while 182 others were injured in the 537 accidents being recorded so far, the TSCZ has emphasized the need for motorists to exercise caution and avoid more accidents on the country's roads.

TSCZ managing director Obio Chinyere said the number of innocent people who are losing their lives due to road accidents is not acceptable and motorists should ensure that they make all the necessary arrangements before travelling and avoid speeding.

Mr Chinyere said the traffic safety council officers are out in full force to conduct awareness campaigns, adding that on every major highway in the country the officers are reminding motorists to exercise caution.
