A BITTER woman told the court that she was brutally assaulted by her mother-in law after an altercation.
Rudo Muchayi told the court that she was bashed by her mother-in-law, Maideyi Garanewako, over a domestic dispute.
Rudo bared it all at the Harare civil court where she was seeking a protection order against her. "I am having problems with my mother-in-law, she is violent and she recently beat me up after I had some problems with my husband," said Rudo.
She went on to accuse Maideyi of influencing her husband to turn his back on her. "Right now I am not staying with my husband, he left home because she tells him bad things about me," she said. Responding to the claims, Maideyi said: "This woman is no longer my daughter-in-law, she was divorced by my son over infidelity and I have nothing to do with her," said Maideyi. Magistrate Lynne Manyika, who presided over the case, granted the protection order in Rudo's favour.
