ZANU PF deputy director for information, Mr Psychology Maziwisa has joined the band wagon of many ZANU PF stalwarts that equate President Robert Mugabe to Jesus.

In two consecutive Facebook postings Maziwisa insists that the way President Mugabe is persecuted for his policies he is a resemblance of Jesus Christ.

"President Mugabe is no Jesus Christ, but the constant persecution which he has suffered for standing for what is right brings him closer to Christ." Says his Facebook posting of 27 December.

Maziwisa goes on in the same post to say that President Mugabe is amongst the best people in the world to apply the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Maziwisa praises President Mugabe against his major rival Morgan Tsvangirai of the opposition MDC T saying that Mugabe values the lives of Zimbabweans more than does Tsvangirai.

"Yet it is clear that President Mugabe comes closer than most people when it comes to applying Christ's teachings- certainly much closer than Morgan Tsvangirai who doesn't seem to understand that intentionally destroying people's lives goes against the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ. " says Maziwisa

Many human rights reports have however blame d President Mugabe for the loss of lives of many Zimbabwean citizens in his 34 year hold of Zimbabwe's presidency. Surprisingly, Maziwisa himself acknowledged this in an open letter he wrote to President Mugabe in April 2010.

"The right to vote for a government of our choice has effectively been negated through ZANU PF's manipulation of the political environment by means of sustained violence, intimidation, abduction and unlawful killings contrary, Mr President, to your fine words of April 17, 1980.

All these atrocities have been, and continue to be, committed largely by the government over which you preside. Given the protracted period of their occurrence and their sustained nature, it is almost impossible to suppose that this has all been happening outside of your knowledge. Indeed, there is compelling evidence both tacit and express that you have been and still are behind these inequities every step of the way. " wrote Maziwisa in his letter to president Mugabe. [Link]

His update did not go without angry reactions from the people on the social network site. At the time of writing this article his posting already had close to four hundred responses 90% of which were castigating the youthful leader.

However, as if the castigations were not enough, Maziwisa wakes up the following day on the 28th of December and puts up another post emphasising his stance that President Mugabe is indeed equitable to Jesus Christ.

"I have been widely condemned and criticised for writing here last night that President Mugabe's policy of standing for what he believes in resembles Jesus Christ's .... Well, i stand by what I said ..... let's put it this way: this greatest leader of our time may not be Jesus Christ, or the same as Christ but his consistency of purpose, his purposefulness, his ability to stand by what he believes in- whatever the price - makes him more Christlike..." Writes Maziwisa in the second post.

He further reiterates his stance that Tsvangirai is to blame for the deaths and sufferings of Zimbabweans instead of President Mugabe by bringing in the (targeted) sanctions to Zimbabweans and Zimbabwean women the MDC T leader dated and dumped.

"... much more so than Morgan Tsvangirai who has brought untold suffering on his own people, is refusing to call for the lifting of sanctions (never mind that he invited them in the first place) and has broken the hearts of many women despite Jesus' clear teachings around this subject."

Maziwisa like several other ZANU PF diehards concludes by saying that Mugabe has exactly the same vision as was that of Jesus Christ.

"President Mugabe definitely has the same vision that Christ had, namely that you should not just stand by your beliefs when your critics persecute you, you should also continue to implement them."

"At least one thing for certain Jesus Christ never believed in hate, revenge, persecution and suppression and or killing of those that opposed him" says one of the responses to Maziwisa's conclusion.
