Elderly 'peeping-tom', walks in on teen neighbour having a bath

A SENIOR citizen, who appeared in court answering to charges of sneaking into a teenage neighbours bathing room whilst she undressed, has been convicted.

Rabson Tanyara. 66, of House No. 9361 Whitecliffe was found guilty of criminal insult when he appeared at the Harare magistrates' court.

He was taken to court after he peeped and entered the bathroom of a 19-year-old neighbour whilst she was bathing.

The name of the teenager was withheld for legal reasons. Rabson had denied the allegations when he Initially appeared before magistrate Miriam Banda.

He told the court that he never entered the bathroom whilst the teenage girl was bathing but only went to remind her not to bath with young boys.

Rabson told the court that he was under instructions from the girl's employer to advice her over bathing with young boys.

The elderly man will know his fate on January 7 when the presiding magistrate is expected to make a ruling.

The State, led by Audrey Chogumaira had it that on November 13 at around midday, the teenage gut was bathing  when Tanyara entered  the bathroom.

He was alleged to have peeped into the bathroom before he knocked on the door.

Further allegations were that the senior citizen then entered the bathroom knowing that the teenager was undressed and bathing.

The young girl went on to lodge a complaint with the police leading to Tanyara's arrest.

He was later taken to Harare magistrate' court where he was charged with criminal insult
