Zanu PF, MDC-T to renew political battle in by-elections this month

Zanu PF and rival MDC-T are set to renew their political battle in three local authority by-elections in three towns on January 25.
The were nomination court set on December 20 last year.
Chief Elections Ofiicer, Lovemore Sekeremayi said " It is hereby notifed in terms of section 125(4) of the Electorial Act (Chapter2:13) that at the close of sitting of the nomination courts which sat on Friday December 2013, the candidates listed in the schedule were duly nominated for elections as councillors in their respective wards".
By-elections are due in Harare ward 12, Karoi Town Council ward 10 and Zaka Rural District Council ward 32.
In Harare, Nyemba Maureen (Zanu PF), Gadzira Takura of the Lovemore Madukhu led NCA, Muponda Albert (MDC-T) and Jack Muzanemhamo an independent candidate will square off.
A total of 14 polling stations have been establised.
In Karoi, Zanu Pf is fielding Fortune Madamombe and Chiwaya Musekiwa is standign for MDC-T and four polling stations would be used.
In Zaka, Enock Chikamhi (NCA), mutava Budi Elias ( MDC-T) and Toruvanda Togarepi of Zanu PF are eying the seat.
Seven polling stations have been demarcated.
