Man (38) stabbed, robbed, left with no clothes on

A 38-year-old man from Chikanga Phase 1 in Mutare was last Sunday robbed and left with no clothes on.

The robbery happened at around 10pm near Daggies Bar in Chikanga.

Chirisa Mudzingwa was attacked by three armed robbers who disappeared with $300 cash and two Nokia cellphones.

It is alleged that Mudzingwa was alone when he was approached by three robbers who were wearing black garments and woollen hats.

When he saw them he easily recognised them since he had been drinking beer with them in the bar.

Manicaland police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Luxson Chananda said that when Mudzingwa saw them he tried to run away but they caught him since he was drunk and began to physically assault him with the iron bars they had.

One of the robbers grabbed him by the neck and pushed him down. He stabbed him on his right ear with a knife whilst the other two were busy searching him.

The robbers also forced him to take off his clothes.

Mudzingwa was assisted by another man who was also coming from the beerhall. A report was made and investigations are in progress.
