A Bulawayo teenager from New Lobengula has been remanded in custody for stabbing and robbing a Form 3 student of his spectacles and cap.

The court heard that Daniel Moyo, who was accompanied by his two unidentified colleagues who are still at large, approached 16-year-old Newman Ncube of Pumula South, who was coming from Amphitheatre in company of his two friends, and demanded the complainant's possessions.

Noticing that they were about to get robbed, Ncube and his friends ran away from Amphitheatre to Robert Mugabe Way between Leopold Takawira Street and 8th Avenue.

Along Robert Mugabe Way the complainant tripped to the ground while his friends proceeded to escape.

Moyo and his colleagues surrounded Ncube who was lying helpless on the ground and further demanded his possessions.

The court further heard that Moyo stabbed the complainant on his back and grabbed Ncube's pair of spectacles and a cap before fleeing the scene with his colleagues.

Ncube went to ZRP Bulawayo Central to make a report and while in the charge office he spotted the accused person walking along Leopold Takawira Street.

The complainant alerted the police who rushed to arrest Moyo who was walking alone. Nothing out of the stolen goods was recovered.
