The Zanu-PF youth league has started preparing for President Robert Mugabe's 90th birthday, the 21st February movement celebrations, which will be held in Marondera at a date to be announced.
The celebrations are held annually.
At a national executive meeting convened in Harare yesterday, the youth league resolved to begin preparation.
Addressing journalists after the meeting, Zanu-PF secretary for youths in the Politburo Absolom Sikhosana said youths across the political divide should value the celebrations as they honour the legacy of an iconic leader who is revered across the continent.
"Through these celebrations we also intend to make sure youths appreciate they are owners of their own destiny and not second citizens in their own country," he said.
