The High Court has postponed the ruling on whether or not Bikita West legislator Munyaradzi Kereke should be prosecuted on an alleged case of rape.
Justice Happias Zhou postponed the matter after Kereke, who is represented by Mr James Makiya indicated that he wants to file a supplementary affidavit.
The parties have been asked to come back to court on Friday where a date for the ruling will be determined.
Francis Maramwidze, the guardian of the girl who is alleged to have been raped by Kereke, filed a High Court application seeking the court to prosecute the accused.
Kereke has also approached the Constitutional Court seeking a permanent stay of prosecution arguing that there is no evidence linking him to the commission of the offence.
Kereke is alleged to have raped an 11 year old female relative who was under his custody.
The case was reported more than two years ago.
