Two-year-old run over by tractor

A two-year-old baby, who was playing under a tractor-drawn trailer with friends, died on the spot on Thursday after he was run over by a tractor at a farm in Nyabira.
Mashonaland West provincial police spokesperson Inspector Clemence Mabgweazara confirmed the incident yesterday and said the tractor has since been impounded.
It is alleged that on the day in question, Lawrence Kabila (38) an employee at Califonia Farm, parked a tractor at the compound and went home.
The toddler and his friends started playing under the trailer.
Kabila got out of the house and drove the tractor without checking underneath.
The toddler was run over by the trailer but Kabila did not notice it and proceeded to the fields.
He became aware of the tragedy after a fellow farm worker informed him.
The child died on admission at Banket hospital.
