Zanu PF has turned to vote buying in Ward 10, Karoi Urban ahead of the Saturday's by-elections in the town in clear violation of the country's Constitution.
From yesterday (Sunday) to today, Zanu PF officials led by the Mashonaland West provincial chairperson, Temba Mliswa were distributing maize and fertiliser to residents of Ward 10. Other Zanu PF members distributing the maize and fertiliser with Mliswa are; Chamunorwa Mutisi, a provincial Zanu PF member, Godfrey Beremauro, Hurungwe Central MP and Richard Ziki.
The MDC-T today said it "strongly condemns the move by Zanu PF as it is in clear disregard of the country's Constitution, which in Chapter Seven Part 1, 155, 1 (d) states that; "Elections, which must be held regularly, must be free from violence and other malpractices". MDC officials in Karoi Urban last night approached the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) district official in the area only identified as Pfunye who said he would look into the irregularities.
