Maid hires gang to assault employer's sister

A maid reportedly hired a gang to assault her employer's sister after a dispute.

Nomatter Chatikobo works for Cecilia Chiumbwa's sister and the court heard Chatikobo verbally abuses her.

Chiumbwa yesterday hauled Chatikobo before the Harare Civil Court seeking a protection order against her.

She told magistrate Tafadzwa Muvhami that Chatikobo interferes in their family (Chiumbwa and sister) arguments and scolds her.

"This girl interferes in our family disputes and verbally abuses me all the time," complained Chiumbwa.

"She alleges that I called her a lesbian and she hired a gang to assault me.

"She also accuses me of having sexual relations with my brother. Recently, she ended up verbally abusing my husband saying that we are jealous of my sister (her employer). I told my sister about her unbecoming behaviour and she expressed ignorance about it."

Chatikobo had no kind words for Chiumbwa. She refuted her allegations saying that she is always against her.

"She once filed a police report alleging that I have stolen her mobile phones," protested Chatikobo.

"We rebuked each other on several occasions and she uses painful words. She called me a lesbian and a prostitute.

"She abuses her sister and includes me in their altercations. She also said that I am a witch and am HIV positive."

Magistrate Muvhami ordered the two to live peacefully and not to abuse each other in any way.
