A supervisor at a farm in Mvuma learnt the hard way that tampering with a man's food can be hazardous to one's health when a security guard stabbed him in the face for serving him a small portion of Isitshwala.

Andrew Magama, a farm supervisor at Broke Shire Farm was serving dinner to security guards last week when Exaviour Musakande complained that the food he had received was too small for a man of his size. Musakande confronted Magama and demanded more food.

Magama reportedly stood his ground saying his decision on what is heaped onto a plate was final.

True to the adage that a hungry man is an angry man, Musakande reported threw a flurry of punches at his supervisor.

He then produced a sharp object from his pocket and stabbed his superior once under the left eye.

Other guards had to physically restrain Musakande as he moved in for the kill, apparently still not satisfied with the damage he had caused.

Gweru magistrate, Judith Taruvinga heard yesterday how Musakande ran amok over food.

Prosecuting, Hackson Kadungure said the matter was reported to the police and Musakande was arrested. He was remanded out of custody on his own cognisance to 5 February.
