President Robert Mugabe has been invited to attend a high level United Nations climate change meeting in New York.
He was invited by former Ghanaian president John Kufor, who is now the UN Secretary General's Special Envoy on climate change.
The meeting will be held in September at the UN headquarters. The two met at the African Union summit in Ethiopia.
The invite comes after Mugabe was snubbed by President Obama for the landmark US-Africa summit in August.
After the meeting Kufor,e Mugabe met Mozambican leader Armando Guebuza for nearly one and half hours.
Mr Guebuza did not disclose the details of their closed-door meeting, but said Zimbabwe and Mozambique have good relations that have seen the countries having a friendly economic cooperation.
The two leaders met at a time Mozambique is fighting RENAMO insurgents.
