4 killed, 4 seriously injured in road accident

At least four people died while four others were seriously injured when a Toyota Noah they were travelling in veered off the road and overturned along Norton-Chibhero road. The accident is said to have occurred at around 1pm but the police only arrived an hour later.
It is believed the Toyota Noah registration number ACT 9846 which was enroute to Norton from Mhondoro - Chingwere area veered off the road and overturned after the driver failed to negotiate a curve.
Although there were no eye witnesses, those who saw the car earlier and others who reside close to where the accident occurred alleged the car was speeding.
When the News crew arrived at the scene, the bodies of the deceased had been loaded in a police vehicle and about to be taken to the mortuary.
The injured people had already been taken to Norton hospital.
The driver is said to have fled the accident scene.
Names of the deceased are yet to be released as their next of kin have not yet been informed.
