'Media twisted facts,' alleges Mujuru

Vice President Joice Mujuru has refuted allegations by some sections of the local media which have quoted her as saying that she is against the current media exposure on corrupt activities at some parastatals.
Vice President Mujuru, who was officially opening a Mashonaland Central provincial planning workshop in Mazowe, accused some sections of the local media of twisting facts to suit their agenda.
She said those who defraud central government, local authorities and public enterprises should be held accountable and personally liable for their conduct. While addressing Mashonaland West, Zanu-PF Women's League provincial inter-district conference held in Chinhoyi, Mujuru accused the media of being used by people who want to advance their political agenda hiding under the guise of exposing corruption. The local media has exposed various cases of corruption by captains of parastatals and some executives in local authorities.
