PSMAS licence renewed
21 Feb 2014 at 08:19hrs | Views
Embattled Premier Service Medical Aid Society has finally been granted a licence to operate, but with conditions following the resignation of the society's board of directors last Friday.
Although the licence issue did not affect PSMAS members from seeking health services, the society's bankers and other stakeholders were beginning to lose confidence in dealing with an unlicensed entity.
Upon issuance of the licence on Tuesday, PSMAS was ordered to provide government with information on its claims status on a monthly basis, debt recovery strategies and details of administration and other expenses.
The society would also be meeting the regulator on a monthly basis to provide progress updates.
