President Robert Mugabe has arrived back home from the Far East where he had gone for a routine medical check up. President Mugabe, who turned 90 on Friday, touched down at the Harare International Airport aboard an Air Zimbabwe plane just after seven in the morning. He was met by the First Lady Grace Mugabe and members of the First Family; Vice President Joice Mujuru; Defence Minister Dr Sydney Sekeramayi; Minister of Information, Media and Broadcasting Services Professor Jonathan Moyo; Deputy Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Retired Colonel Christian Katsande and service chiefs. Mugabe, who travelled to Singapore beginning of this week for a cataract surgery on his left eye, said the procedure was successful.
A bash to celebrate Mugabe's birthday is scheduled for Marondera in Mashonaland East province on Sunday (tomorrow).
The birthday celebrations are going to be held under the theme: 'ZIM ASSET: Growing the Economy for Youth Empowerment and Employment'.
