President Robert Mugabe has just castigated the MDC-T youth calling them thugs while praising his Zanu-PF youth as disciplined and tactful.

Speaking at the 28th 21st February Movement celebrations in Rudaka Stadium Marondera on Sunday afternoon, Mugabe castigated the MDC-T youth for assaulting it leaders. Speaking in reference to reports that members of the MDC-T youth last week assaulted party Deputy Treasurer at the party head quarters in Harare, Mugabe said its unheard of for youths to assault adults let alone their leaders.

"The MDC T youth are very undisciplined how can a young person stand up and assault someone old enough to be their parent, will the person be drunk of beer? Am not surprised because the MDC-T youth is always drunk," said Mugabe.

In comparison, President Mugabe said the Zanu-PF youth were more discipline and intelligent compared to their MDC-T counter parts.

"Where is our very intelligent youth for these people to learn from? We must show them our special, clandestine and underground operations. We will not disclose our secrets to the enemies but will always out do them."

Contrary to President Mugabe's speech, the Zanu-PF youth league has over the years always operated a very violent militia that never cared who they were beating. Numerous reports have been made of youths from the Border Gezi Youth Training Centres known as Green Bombers who were deployed in the country at almost all elections to beat up people to vote for Zanu-PF.

The history of Zanu-PF youth violence dates back to the early eighties when the then blood thirst Youth Brigade in brown camouflage was deployed into opposition PF ZAPU urban territory alongside with the notorious 5th Brigade (Gukurahundi) which was deployed in the rural areas. The youth brigade carried out lots of mass beatings and sometimes murders on the opposition members.

In more recent years, in the 2008 presidential run off election, Zanu-PF deployed a very violent wing of its youth league known as Green Bombers who went on a massive spree of violence assaulting anyone they met up with without regard of age or social status.

In his speech President Mugabe blamed MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai for unleashing the youths on the senior party officials who have been calling for leadership renewal in the opposition party.

"Tsvangirai said "Psaa" to the youth commanding to beat up the party leaders and then later comes out to cry crocodile tears with the assaulted member," said Mugabe

"We cannot have people like that running our country let alone have them win seats in our parliament and worse dominating our main urban centres Harare and Bulawayo."
