Police have launched a man-hunt for MDC-T Harare Central legislator Murisi Zwizwai for questioning in connection with the assault case of party treasurer Elton Mangoma at the organisation's headquarters last week.
Zwizwai, the former deputy minister of Media, Information and Publicity in the inclusive government, was mentioned in court papers at the initial court appearance of James Chidhakwa, the MDC-T youth secretary for security and defence for allegedly assaulting Mangoma.
The ex-minister is a known loyalist of party leader Morgan Tsvangirai.
An MDC-T youth leader was arrested on allegations of assaulting the party's deputy treasurer-general Elton Mangoma at Harvest House a fortnight ago.
James Chidhakwa, an MDC-T secretary for security and defence in the youth assembly, was arrested over the weekend. Police confirmed Chidhakwa's arrest yesterday.
He is expected to appear in court today.
