Movement for Democratic Change  spokesperson Douglas Mwonzora on Wednesday said MDC-T "learnt with shock and disgust the bomb attack on the house of Secretary General Tendai Biti in the early hours of yesterday today."

In the statement below, Mwonzora said:

The MDC-T has learnt with shock and disgust the bomb attack on the house of Secretary General Tendai Biti in the early hours of yesterday today.

The party unreservedly condemns this cowardly act. It is clear that the attack is the work of the enemies of the MDC-T who want to portray the Party as violent.

This bomb attack is very much similar to the attack on Hon. Biti's house sometime in 2011 when he was accused of various offences by members of Zanu PF. It bears the definite fingerprints of Zanu PF. Zimbabweans know that the MDC-T was accused of murdering Cain Nkala only for the courts to clear its members. The MDC-T was also accused of bombing police stations as well as Zanu PF offices only for its members to be cleared of wrongdoing.

It is very clear that there are political parties who want to exacerbate the disagreements within the MDC-T and play MDC-T leaders against each other. Fortunately the MDC-T has not and does not resolve its political disputes in such a cowardly fashion.

We regret the anguish that this dastardly act does bring on the Biti family. This is definitely the acts on enemies of the MDC-T.
