9 perish in accident

The Zimbabwe Broadcasting Authority (ZBC) reports that nine people have died while 10 others were injured when the commuter omnibus they were travelling in burst its rear tyre and overturned.

The accident is reported to have happened along the Harare-Bulawayo road near Chegutu.

Mashonaland West Police Spokesperson, Inspector Clemence Mambweazara said the commuter omnibus driver lost control of the vehicle which overturned four times before landing on its roof.

He said seven people died on the spot and the other two died on admission at Chegutu District Hospital. More details are still coming through.
