A man from Mbare, Zimbabwe, was on Friday evening found hanging from a tree near Mupedzanhamo flea market.
While details are still sketchy, several sources and eye witnesses suspect foul play.
Sources argued that the man's trousers was very dirty raising suspicions that he could have been murdered before being hanged to cover up the heinous crime.
The man's feet were on the ground, and not suspended in the air as is the norm with most suicides of this nature.
"Very true, people are getting murdered these days and the killers hang the body from a tree because the thugs know that our cops are dumb and they don't have any forensic department," said Munyaradzi Chikanga Sansole.
"We don't have police forensic detectives who can easily comb the whole area where the hanging took place and look for even the tiniest of evidence.
"I don't think they even check the body properly for any other marks which might be on the body.
However, another eye-witness said the man could have committed suicide.
"His relative who also resides in Mbare's Magaba flats identified the man and said he is a cart pusher.
"He is said to have taken a curtain and electric cables from his house before disappearing.
"His family members had looked for him until morning when they were about to consult a prophet.
"They then learnt that he was found dead and hanging near Simon Mazorodze fly over," said the source.
Another eye-witness alleged that the now-deceased's name is Joe.
"The man is from nearby Nyerere hostel, his name is Joe," said the eye-witness.
