Dynamos treasurer, Webster Marechera has been arrested over allegations that he misrepresented the club's funds he was depositing in a bank.
Marechera was picked up by police on Monday after a report filed by Dynamos Private Limited Finance Director, Robson Rundaba.
Allegations against Marechera are that he under-banked an amount of $14 980 which he collected as Dynamos' net takings relating to 10 matches.
The Dynamos treasurer, who is in charge of collecting the team's premiership gate takings and banking its net income, also allegedly under-banked the funds by various amounts during the said 10 matches.
Nine of the 10 Dynamos home matches involved are those against Harare City, Buffaloes, FC Platinum, Triangle, How Mine, Black Rhinos, Black Mambas, Chicken Inn and Highlanders.
Indications are that in the match against Highlanders played on 21 April 2013, DeMbare's net takings were $33 216.16, but only $30 612 was banked, prejudicing the Harare giants of $2 604.16.
Information revealed to the ZBC News also shows that another $2 620 disappeared from Dynamos' net takings after the 1st of April tie against Chicken Inn, while yet another $2 255 went unaccounted for after the 14 April tie against Triangle.
Police spokesperson Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba confirmed Marechera's arrest and said the Dynamos treasurer is facing charges of fraud after allegedly prejudicing the club of $14 980.
She revealed that Marechera is expected to appear in court on Wednesday.
Contacted for comment, Dynamos Private Limited board finance director Robson Rundaba referred this reporter to his board chairman Freddy Mkwesha, who confirmed but could not shed more light saying the issue falls under the board finance director's jurisdiction.
In a related development, the Dynamos financial crisis has spilled into the field with players said to have refused to train on Tuesday demanding to be paid their outstanding winning bonuses in the Mbada Diamonds Cup last year as well as the game against Mochudi Centre Chiefs.
Revelations also indicate that most of the players have not been paid their sign on fees.
Dynamos are preparing for this weekend's Champions League first round 2nd leg tie against DRC's AS Vita Club.
