A 17-year-old herdboy in Mberengwa committed suicide after his employer denied him time-off to visit his relatives.
According to Chronicle, police identified the deceased as Advice Maphosa of Makuta Village under Chief Bvute.
Yesterday Midlands police spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko, said: "Advice's body was found hanging by a neighbour at around 1pm. The incident happened on Sunday".
Insp Mahoko said the now deceased Advice was employed as a herdboy together with Tapiwa Hove, 22, of the same village.
He said the two were employed by Nothando Nsingo.
"The two herdboys received their salaries on Saturday, 1 March. Advice then approached Nsingo and indicated to her that he wanted to visit his relatives at his rural home.
"Nsingo told him to first locate some missing cattle before she could allow him to go. Advice felt offended by the decision and went on to hang himself on a tree branch at Nsingo's residence."
The matter was reported to the Police in Mberengwa who attended the scene. Insp Mahoko urged members of the public to always seek third party intervention whenever disputes arise.
