MDC-T's Harare province spokesperson, Obert Gutu has hinted that there are some senior MDC-T officials who were caught with their hands deep in the cookie jar during their tenure in the GNU.
This came up when Gutu was responding to comments on his Facebook page regarding what he called 'Operation subdue'. Gutu did not name the seniors officials but some of his followers think he is fighting so hard that Tendai Biti, MDC-T Secretary General, leave the MDC-T for his selfish reasons.
Gutu wrote, "Comrades and friends....just be careful!!, There is OPERATION SUBDUE and we know the prime movers behind this wicked but relentless exercise to weaken, decimate and ultimately collapse the people's project.
"There is real big money involved in this project. Unfortunately, some of our erstwhile very senior comrades were found with their hands deep in the cookie jar during the GNU era and now it's payback time..!!!"
Gutu added, "I reiterate, even more forcefully this time around, that some very senior people were caught with their hands deep in the cookie jar during their tenure in the GNU. Whoever feels that they have been defamed by my accusation is very much at liberty to take appropriate legal action against me. I will spill the beans on their corrupt deals. In fact, I will match them pound for pound.Trust me."
Gutu also questioned the decision by Biti to hold a press conference at his law firm offices.
"When a very senior party official nicodemously addresses a press conference behind the backs of his colleagues and lacks the courage of his conviction to speak out his mind in a national council meeting," he wrote on his Facebook page.
"He has actually committed a very serious and punishable breach of the party constitution"
"You know something very fishy is happening behind the scenes when ZBC TV gives a Zanu-PF political "adversary" ten (10) minutes of virtually uninterrupted positive coverage on their prime time News Hour bulletin.
Some of us saw it coming....(OPERATION SUBDUE)."
Cousin George Mike one of Gutu's followers on Facebook is not convinced with some of the allegations, he wrote, "The MDC is full of ambitious individuals, there are those who are now sounding so patriotic to the party but we know in their hearts of hearts they are already eying certain party posts. They are fighting so hard that Biti and party leave the MDC for their selfish reasons! We can read between the lines and we know how phony loyalty sounds like."
Discent Collins Bajila wrote, "The mood at the Animal Farm was both timid and jubilant the night Snowball was sacked. Some animals celebrated the ouster of a traitor while others feared they might be next. Meanwhile Napoleon had a peaceful sleep."
Bikita West legislator, Munyaradzi Kereke made astonishing allegations claiming that former finance minister Tendai Biti was complicit in the looting of funds that he accuses former Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe governor Gideon Gono.
Kereke said that Biti had his hands in the cookie jar as finance minister making him a 'suspect and a witness'.
Kereke claims Biti withdrew money from the International Monetary Fund and put it in a private bank which later collapsed. During its being between banks Kereke claims that it 'thinned out' and was abused.
Biti denies the allegations saying that moving the money around was meant to stop it being looted.
Kereke is a former advisor to Gono.
