UNITED Family International Church leader, Emmanuel Makandiwa, has dared critics to prove he is a phony 'prophet' who uses black magic to perform some of his alleged miracles.

"It is not fruitful to say that I am fake when you do not take action to test me," the charismatic church leader told congregants during a service at Harare's City Sports Centre last week.

"I think we have professional witch-doctors in our country registered with ZINATHA who are very powerful and also men of God, why can't either side come to prove my false works?"

Makandiwa's remarks follow speculation that a delegation of pastors from Ghana was due in Harare on a mission to "expose" him as a fake.

But the wealthy church leader declared: "Some people who have accused me of using evil powers actually consult n'angas themselves.

"Why then do they not want to come here if they truly believe I use the same powers as n'angas? Why are they not comfortable? It shows you they know the truth.

"If you know of a powerful witchdoctor, bring him here and what happens will tell you we are from totally different kingdoms and this should be done in the presence of cameras."

His spokesman, Prime Kufakunesu, also told the Herald newspaper: "Everyone out there knows that Prophet Makandiwa is a true man of God and has thrown this challenge to his critics and no one has taken it up.

"You have to understand that he is a brand and people would obviously try to make names for themselves by speaking about such a brand, either positively or negatively.

"People will just say anything to be noticed, even if it is nonsensical. Their reasoning does not make sense at all. Just wait and see, May will come and go and no one will pitch up."
