'Man catches wife in bed with boyfriend'

A Harare man is accusing his wife of bed-hopping, claiming he caught her in bed with a boyfriend.

Lloyd Ndoro alleges his wife, Teclar Chaita, is having extra-marital affairs with different men, among them a police officer.

He alleged that she incites the cop to arrest him whenever the two are involved in an argument.

Ndoro told Harare Civil Court magistrate Gamuchirai Siwardi that he no longer loves Chaita but she is rejecting a token of divorce.

He alleged the wife assaults him whenever he attempts to break up with her.

Ndoro was seeking a protection order against Chaita.

He begged the court to evict Chaita from his house saying she perpetrates violence.

"The problem is I caught her in our matrimonial bed having sex with a boyfriend. She is also in love with a policeman who she orders to arrest me whenever we have altercations," said Ndoro.

"Recently, she destroyed all the windows at our house and our tenants had to move away because of her violent behaviour. She is refusing a token of divorce and beats me when I tell her that I no longer love her. She is refusing to vacate the house and assaults me regularly.

"I am now suffering from arthritis and blood pressure (BP) because of her insults. I do not love her anymore because she has many boyfriends."

Chaita refuted her husband's allegations saying he is the one who assaults her and is violent.

"He is lying," she protested. "Recently, he teamed up with the tenants and assaulted me.

"They turned off electricity so as to get rid of me. He is framing all these allegations because he has never caught me with any man."

Magistrate Siwardi dismissed the application saying it seemed Ndoro was hell-bent on getting Chaita evicted without placing any credible evidence before the courts.

She advised him to approach the High Court for redress.
