Man kills daughter over R7

A Buhera man beat to death his 16-year-old daughter after accusing her of stealing R7 last Friday.
Spiwe Muchenje, who was accused of stealing R2 from a friend and R5 from her father, died from injuries she sustained after the beating.
National police spokesperson Chief Superintendent Paul Nyathi confirmed the incident which occurred at Chisa Village under Chief Nyashanu.
He said Spiwe left for school and when she returned, her father wanted to beat her up, but she fled to a nearby homestead.
The father later went to look for her and took her home where he used a stick to assault her all over the body.
She sustained serious injuries and retired to bed a few hours later.
Chief Supt Nyathi said at around 2am, she started screaming and the father took her to some prophets for treatment.
She died while being treated and a report was made to the police, leading to the father's arrest.
Chief Supt Nyathi urged parents to desist from severely assaulting their children to avoid such cases.
