Rebels' return will not solve MDC-T problems

Political analysts said Tsvangirai was losing vital cogs in the form of Biti and Mangoma and inviting political nonentities who would not add any value to the party.
They said most of those that were re-joining the party were "spent forces" that were just keen on reviving their own dead political careers.
"Those invitations are not premised on the genuine need to dislodge Mugabe or to pursue a democratic path. They are simply meant to spite those that are against his continued leadership," said a senior MDC-T official.
"Tsvangirai was removing critical members of the party and inviting back mundane rebels who have nothing new to offer other unquestionable and total allegiance to his leadership."
The official believes the MDC-T would be weaker without Biti and Mangoma, who were negotiators during the subsistence of the government of national unity (GNU) and commanded the respect of regional and international leaders, including the party's foreign funders.
