Jailed RMG Independent End Time Message leader Robert Martin Gumbura's two security guards have been charged for obstructing the course of justice after they allegedly barred a police officer from entering the pastor's house while conducting investigations.

It is alleged that during the time police were investigating Gumbura's rape cases, a cop identified as Edward Muterere, went to his Marlborough house where he met Simbarashe Musiyiwa (35) and Tendai Mandevani (35) who were manning the gate.

They allegedly locked the gate and barred the police officer from entering the yard.

Musiyiwa and Mandevani were last week Friday summoned to appear before magistrate Ms Victoria Mashamba to answer allegations of defeating the course of justice.

The matter was remanded to March 21 for trial after their lawyers, Mr John Ndomene and Ms Rekai Maposa, requested time to go through the witnesses' statements to enable them to prepare their defence.

Prosecutor Mr Nyikadzino Machingura alleges that on October 12 last year, a police officer who was on duty went to Gumbura's house at number 6 Helena Close in Marlborough with the intention of arresting Gumbura on  rape charges.

He identified himself on arrival at the house but the pair still denied him entry and he failed to execute his duties.

"The accused persons had no right to act in the manner they did," read part of the state outline.
