Former MDC 99 leader Job Sikhala who recently rejoined MDC-T has revealed how President Robert Mugabe's late sister Sabina would predict that he would die of the Aids virus when he was an MP under the united MDC.

"There was one thing which would always frighten me to death together with my best friend Tafadzwa Musekiwa when we were growing up," Sikhala said.

"That fear was created on the basis of the number of our relatives, friends, colleagues and neighbours who we witnessed dying. In the lifts of tall buildings, we would always look ourselves in the mirror and laugh at our images, and say to each other that we are not dying."

Sikhala said they would comfort themselves with their glittering skins and youthful faces.

"On our first day in Parliament, Tete (Aunt) Sabina Mugabe as we all fondly called her was shouting the whole day that why did you bring these small boys, they would have died of Aids within the next two years because of the celebrity status they now have," he said.

"Others would laugh at her joke but with me, it could anger me. I would hopelessly look at her with my eyes full of tears of anger, saying why is this old woman wishing for us to die of AIDS. It finally ended as a joke as it was endlessly repeated.

"Today I look at it with glowing admiration because the fear Tete Sabina Mugabe invoked in us made us to be careful with our sexual lives. AIDS is there ladies and gentlemen."
