'Mum leaves toddler home, goes prostituting'

A city man is accusing his wife of going to night clubs soliciting for sex leaving their three-year-old child unattended.

Moses Mudoni alleges his wife Muchandiona Mugova is having extra marital affairs with men at night clubs, taking advantage that he works during the night.

Mudoni yesterday hauled Mugova before the Harare Civil Court seeking a protection order against her.

He told magistrate Gamuchirai Siwardi that Mugova is bed-hopping.

He told the magistrate that his wife assaults him saying she has the right to bed who ever she wants.

"She has many boyfriends and she told me that she will continue bedding men at nightclubs because she wants ownership of the house I received through a cooperative," Mudoni said.

"She admits being a prostitute and told me that I cannot stop her from being one.

"I once caught her with a boyfriend and she assaulted me, plucking out my dreadlocks and I sustained injuries.

"Recently I caught her again with a man in our bed and she stabbed me with a broken bottle."

Mudoni also told the court that Mugova is chasing him out of their matrimonial home saying he is disturbing her from bringing her boyfriends.

"She told me that she will continue going to night clubs soliciting for sex until I vacate the house, claiming it belongs to her," Mudoni said.

Mugova strenuously denied her husband's allegations. She said Mudoni is making a counter attack because he is the one who is bed-hopping.

"He is lying," she said. "I only assaulted him once when he said that I am barren and have failed to sire children for him.

"I am a cross border trader and when I am away, he brings girlfriends at our house."

Magistrate Siwardi ordered Mugova to stop verbally and physically abusing her husband in any way.
