A landlady who has been dragged to court by her cheeky tenant, has told the court that the lodger locks her out of the house.
Kristle Smasher Moyo filed the lawsuit against her landlady Thandiwe Dube, whom she claimed was disturbing her stay at the Belvedere house.
Moyo said she had a right to be at the house and does not want Dube bringing strangers at the house.
Dube told Harare Civil Court magistrate Gamuchirai Siwardi that she does not even have keys to the gate.
"I have to knock to get access into my house," Dube said, adding that Moyo was creating stories against her.
Moyo on the other hand said it was her right to be at the house based on a lease agreement she signed with Dube.
Dube claims the lease agreement was forged and that Moyo owed her over $11 000 in rental arrears.
"I am seeking a peace order against Thandiwe Dube. She is always shouting at my family and causing trouble," said Moyo.
Moyo further accuses her landlady of leaving gates and doors open at night and disturbing her peace.
She said she is now seeking protection of the law, to safeguard her property and children.
Moyo was previously fined for fraud, after she duped and collected rentals from other potential tenants relating to the same house, owned by Dube. She claimed to be the owner of the house.
Dube said Moyo got the freedom to take the house as her own, after she was arrested on fraud charges.
Dube was jailed for six years and was only released through presidential amnesty in February this year.
She told the court that after her release that is when she discovered that Moyo had forged documents pertaining to the house.
Siwardi later ordered Dube to keep peace with Moyo and that the order was valid for the next 12 months.
