THE MDC-T Wednesday boycotted a high profile Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) meeting where all political parties and other interested groups were supposed to reflect on the 2013 Constitutional referendum and elections.

However, MDC-T deputy national chair Morgen Komichi later said they have since lost faith in ZEC which they accuse of fronting for a powerful ruling elite that will stop at nothing to keep its stranglehold on power.

The so-called ZEC All-stakeholders review conference on the 2013 referendum and harmonised elections opened Wednesday with half a dozen fringe political parties, civic groups, diplomats and representatives from African observer groups forming the list of participants.

Komichi, who was the MDC-T's presidential chief election agent during the July 31 polls, accused ZEC of being helpless at a time his party was clamouring for an electronic voter's roll which ZEC is yet to deliver, six months after the elections.

ZEC chair, Justice Rita Makarau said her organisation had deliberately delayed the holding of the review conference to allow the election dust to die down.
