President Robert Mugabe has been accused insincerity in his fight against corruption as he has failed to punish a single government official for graft.

Job Sikhala who recently returned to MDC-T said when the Goodwills Masimirembwa saga was announced by Mugabe, everyone was excited that corruption had been unearthed.

"When we warned everyone that nothing will come out, sympathisers of the system came out guns blazing that l always criticize the good the government does only for them to wake up when Mugabe was apologising to Masimirembwa for being misinformed," Sikhala said.

" Last week in over excitement at the belated birthday party organised by the Public Service Commission, Mugabe stroke again, alleging there was a Minister and a female MP who demanded a $120 000 bribe for some favour. He said they must be arrested immediately.

"Up to present no arrest has been made. He did not give us the name of the corrupt one though the grapevine says it's Chombo."

Sikhala said anyone expecting anything serious from the Mugabe led government to deal with corruption was joking.

"They are just public statements made to divert people from demanding decisive action against the corrupt ones. Corruption is an entrenched celebrated practice in the Zanu PF system," Sikhala said.
