Chinamasa treading on dangerous ground

Finance minister Patrick Chinamasa should have sought political (or legal) input and support from the legislature in his decision to slash parastatals bosses' salaries an opposition lawmaker said this week.
MDC-T Mbizo legislator Settlement Chikwinya told Sapes discussion on Thursday night that because the legislature was seized with the issue of Salarygate it would have been prudent to allow the august house to have a say on the matter.
Chikwinya said while government had no obligation to bring its decision to the legislature, Chinamasa was treading on dangerous ground.
He said he had asked Chinamasa why he had made the decision without cabinet decision and said parliament was not sitting.
