A public tele-communications company, Tel-One has chipped in to help the Tokwe-Mukosi flood victims by donating some food and various other commodities.

Tel-One availed the goods to the Ministry of Local Government, Public Works and National Housing in Harare on Monday.

Tel-One Managing Director, Mrs Chipo Mutasa said her organisation will continue assessing the needs of the displaced families in the country.

The Deputy Minister of Local Government, Public Works and National Housing, Joel Biggie Matiza said the government has been overwhelmed by the support which continues to pour in to assist flood victims in Tokwe-Mukosi and Tsholotsho but called for more support.

The donation includes 300 blankets, two tonnes mealie-meal, sugar beans, sugar, sanitary buckets, sleeper tents and exercise books.

The contribution will go towards the assistance of more than 2000 displaced families.
