MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai has warned President Robert Mugabe and his Zanu PF government that they are playing with fire by not paying soldiers.

"You will burn", Tsvangirai warned Mugabe.

The MDC-T leader said Zimbabwe was facing a crisis of major proportions and needed urgent solutions.

"They made promises to the people before the elections and now they cannot even pay teachers and soldiers. Now, with that in mind if you continue to bury your head in the sand, it is you who is going to burn. If they continue to be arrogant we will watch them," said Tsvangirai.

Meanwhile, MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai yesterday papered over the fierce boardroom squabbles that had threatened to split his party saying he had agreed to work together with members pushing for his ouster to save the party from collapse.

Tsvangirai addressed a news conference at Harvest House for the first time, with Biti and Elias Mudzuri in attendance. But deputy treasurer Elton Mangoma was conspicuously absent.

Tsvangirai said the MDC-T's national standing committee met last Friday and urged the warring parties to bury their differences.

Tsvangirai said the five hours of no-holds barred discussions they told each other the brutal but honest truth that they will save this party and ensure the security of the faith and trust the people bestowed on them.
