Two brothers die in car crash

TWO Dangamvura high-density suburb siblings died when their car was involved in fatal car crash on Sunday.
The driver, Christopher Nyamvundu (23), was allegedly speeding when he lost control of the vehicle and veered off the road before landing into a resident's yard after uprooting three mango trees in the process.
The accident happened at around 3pm along Musikavanhu Road adjacent to Latter Day Saints Church. Police said preliminary investigations showed that Christopher was speeding when he lost control of the vehicle.
Residents who arrived at the scene a few minutes after the accident said the car was extensively damaged and was a write-off.
"We heard a huge bang and we rushed to investigate. The accident scene was not a place for those of a nervous predisposition. It was grisly to say the least.
"We tried our best to save them, but our efforts were in vain. The damage to the vehicle was just too much as it uprooted three trees before coming to a stop.
"It was extensively damaged, while the occupants were severely injured. It was painful to see the passenger (Tinashe) writhing in agony. He was desperately trying to compose himself while blood was oozing from all over his head.
"The driver (Chris) probably because of confusion asked for his cell phone, but he was seriously injured. He was in great pain. It was a sorry sight," said one onlooker.
Although the two brothers were rushed to Mutare Provincial Hospital, they were pronounced dead upon admission.
"They are clear signs that the driver was speeding. We continue to encourage motorists to drive with caution to avoid unnecessary loss of lives," said deputy Manicaland provincial police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Luxson Chananda
