Fuel tanker explodes in Harare, 'a number of people feared dead'

Several people are feared dead after a fuel tanker exploded in Harare's Sunningdale suburb on Saturday night.
According to eyewitnesses, the tanker burst into flames after being involved in an accident with another vehicle along Boshoff Drive.
The tanker is said to have started spilling fuel after the accident.
Scores of residents rushed to the tanker with containers to collect the fuel.
Unfortunately the tanker burst into flames resulting in a number of people being burnt, eyewitnesses said.
The City of Harare's Fire Brigade arrived at the scene within an hour of the explosion but struggled to put off the fire.
When a Sunday Mail crew arrived at the scene at around 9.30pm, the inferno was still raging with the Fire Brigade calling for reinforcements.
Police could not immediately disclose the number of casualties
