A cash-in-transit security guard allegedly disappeared with more than $13,500 of client's money he was to deposit in a bank in Bulawayo last Friday.
Police said the money had been collected from four shops belonging to one group. The security guard and his colleagues were assigned to collect $33 136 from the shops.
National police spokesperson Chief Superintendent Paul Nyathi yesterday said they were looking for Lloyd Munsaka (29).
"On March 28, the security guards were conducting cash-in-transit duties when they collected money from a prominent shop in Bulawayo for banking," he said.
He said after collecting the money, Munsaka was left with four cash boxes at a bank in the city.
Chief Supt Nyathi said when Munsaka's colleagues returned to the bank to check on him, he had left.
"They found the cash boxes dumped in the banking hall," he said.
"The security guards also discovered that two of the boxes had been tampered with and a total of $13 559 was missing."
Chief Supt Nyathi said a police report was made.
