MDC-T threatens to block Electoral Bill

The MDC-T  yesterday threatened to use legal and extra legal means to block the enactment of the Electoral Act Amendment Bill passed by Senate this week amid concerns that the Bill did not incorporate concerns raised  by opposition parties.

The Bill is expected to amend the Electoral Act after the regulations that guided last year's harmonised elections lapsed at the end of December.

MDC-T spokesperson Douglas Mwonzora said that his party was weighing its options and it could make a constitutional challenge and call for demonstrations against the new law if passed in its present form.
